Signe Nielsen, Founding Principal at Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects has worked on the forefront of this renaissance not only at the design firm level, but also serving as President of the Public Design Committee for the City of New York. Discussing real time events in light of the best-selling book LICENSED TO LIE: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice.

With the stroke of a pen on a grand jury indictment, the Enron Task Force destroyed Arthur Andersen LLP and its 85,000 jobs world-wide--only to be reversed three years later by a unanimous Supreme Court because Andersen's conduct was not criminal and the prosecutors had persuaded the judge to take criminal intent out of the jury instructions. They then turned their sights to Merrill Lynch and sent four Merrill Lynch executives to prison on an indictment that criminalized innocent business conduct while they hid the evidence that showed the defendants were innocent. The IRS has started to enforce companies’ compliance with the Affordable Care Act for the 2015 filing year. Donna directs the operation of the AICPA’s young professionals segment by engaging emerging leaders and increasing the visibility of AICPA value and brand awareness. She provides oversight of AICPA’s very successful Leadership Academy where sustainable relationships are forged and future leaders are cultivated. Utilizing professional trainer certifications, Donna supports state society young member conferences and leadership events and provides training to AICPA employees for several Franklin Covey programs including, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Leading at the Speed of Trust. She is also a certified trainer for the VitalSmarts programs, Crucial Conversations and Influencer. Donna earned a B.S. degree, with honors, majoring in Management and Organization Development with a minor in Human Resource Management from the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina.

Chris McKittrick

CFE, MBA, Manager, Information Systems Audit, NC Office of the State Auditor

Chris McKittrick has 35+ years of business experience including leadership positions in audit, financial management, and information systems. He has worked in a broad range of industries including public accounting, hospitality and gaming, manufacturing, software, public relations/advertising, professional associations and state government.

His roles have included vice president/chief financial officer, internal audit director, information systems director, reengineering team leader, and corporate/division controller. Chris formerly served as Director of Members in Business, Industry, and Government for the AICPA. He obtained both his BS and MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and is a CPA and CFE.

Chris currently works in the NC Office of the State Auditor as Manager, Information Systems Audit. Just prior to this he was a member of the faculty of NC State University where he was a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting. He taught over 8,500 students in just 7 years! He also has served as a discussion leader for the NCACPA and won 5.0 Speaker awards in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
