Asterisk World / ITEXPO Keynote Presentation by Juniper Networks: Combating Cybersecurity Threats with Behavioral Analytics
K-02

Nick Bilogorskiy

Juniper Networks

The widespread growth of cybersecurity threats over the past several years has led to a focus on investment in emerging technologies that help anticipate and detect these threats. Businesses now are spending more budget on cybersecurity than ever before; however, threat landscape continues to evolve, requiring companies to constantly need to adapt their defenses. IT departments must have a good understanding of what assets are most important to the business and then what protections make the most sense. One solution businesses should consider? Predictive analytics tools, which help stitch together various events and detect anomalous behavior humans couldn’t, filling in gaps in network protections.

Contextual Communications - The Evolution of the Call Center
AW-07

Nir Simionovich

Cloudonix

In a world of increased connectivity and rapid response, call centers need to reinvent themselves with every technology iteration. The introduction of AI's, bots and natural speech technology aims to increase service level and reduce customer churn. But still, the call center representative will always become the weakest link. Contextual communications bridge the gap between the sometimes "clueless"/"mindless" call center representative and the consumer, lowering the friction bar and improving overall customer satisfaction. This talk will introduce the basics of contextual communications, how they can be integrated to an existing solution and a small case study of a 3000 seat call center, utilizing contextual communications.

XCALLY

Are you willing to take the next step inside the Open Source communications? Using Asterisk with Voice application is great, however there is an increasing demand for Messaging applications and Omni Channel capabilities. How to manage Asterisk environment mixing together voice, messaging, socials and IoT applications will be the main focus of this presentation. We are going to analyse how the Asterisk users can manage multiple kind of interactions, according to their skills. The concept of Open Channel API will be introduced: a simple but effective way to add new channels inside an Asterisk contact center environment, from Social media to IoT events which need to be managed according to some Queueing mechanism or automatic Workflows. Real demos will be played during the session, in order to see when such concepts work and when they break! Emphasis will be given as much as possible to free concepts, some of them even under Beta developments - in order to share the vision with the Open Source community - providing ideas and collecting as many feedbacks as we can from the attendees.

Deploying 1,500 Phones in a Campus Environment
AW-12

Corey McFadden

Voneto

Exceeding the capacities of widely-used Asterisk management UIs can result in a painful experience. Designed for typical SMB deployments, their performance under large-scale conditions can be challenging and has numerous practical limitations... This case study explores a large College campus environment and Voneto's deployment of Asterisk with a management framework based on Asterisk realtime. We'll discuss development, customer-requested modifications, and rollout experience. As this was also a large deployment of Digium handsets, we'll explore the rollout experience and also discuss a number of custom phone and directory apps designed to enhance the end-user experience. Whether a first-time user of Digium handsets or contemplating a deployment that exceeds the capabilities of traditional Asterisk UIs, we'll have something for you.
