This intense one-day review will cover one of the most critical assignments for the ED nurse: triage. This program will review gathering a patient’s history, assessment skills and critical thinking. This course is designed to provide participants with a review of systems and discuss common emergencies for each system. Interactive triage case studies will challenge even the most seasoned nurses.

Kevin McFarlane is the RN supervisor at University of New Mexico Hospital, the state’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. After many years in EMS, he began his nursing career as a pediatric emergency department nurse at UNM. His professional experience also includes serving as the New Mexico stroke coordinator and regional trauma coordinator for the New Mexico Department of Health. Kevin has a passion for continuing education and sharing knowledge among colleagues. He is enthusiastic about all aspects of nursing from clinical to managerial to educational. Kevin is an active member of the ENA on the state and national levels. Kevin routinely speaks at EMS and nursing conferences all around the country.
